FAQ

1. What should I do to prepare for my dog’s photo session?
Relax and let me guide you! Bring your dog’s favorite treats or toys to keep their attention. If your dog needs to burn off energy, a quick walk before the session can help. I’ll send you a prep guide with more tips when you book!

2. My dog doesn’t always listen well. Will that be a problem?
Not at all! I have years of experience working with dogs of all personalities and energy levels. Patience and understanding are key, and I use a mix of treats, toys, and positive reinforcement to get the perfect shot. Your dog is welcome to stay on leash as well. My favorite shots are usually the candid shots of your dog being a dog anyway!

3. Where will the photoshoot take place and at what time?
I love using the natural beauty of Colorado as a backdrop! I have several locations we can discuss prior to your shoots! Whether you want forest, mountains or water shots i've got a place for it all! I want the scenery to make you dog pop and I also understand some senior dogs have distance limitations. I have locations with several different scenic options all within a ten minute walk from the parking lot but I'm not afraid of a good hike either if you and your pup are up for it! All my sessions are in the evening around golden hour for the best lighting and leading into sunset! I'll let you know your specific time when you book a shoot!

4. What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
We’ll keep an eye on the forecast leading up to the session. If needed, we can reschedule to a better day at no extra charge.

5. How long does a typical session last?
This totally depends on how long you want it to be! My recommendation for one dog is a 30 minute session. If you have 2-3 or plan on also wanting shots with your pup I recommend an hour. My sessions are short and simple, no dog wants to be standing around and posing for hours on end, which is exactly why I incorporate action and movement shots as well! This gives us plenty of time for your dog to relax and get comfortable while we capture a variety of poses and moments.

6. Can I be in the photos with my dog?
Absolutely! Just let me know beforehand if the goal of the shoot is to mostly capture the dog alone or to capture you both. I primarily specialize in dog portraiture and action, but the bond between you and your pup is something special, and I’d love to capture that as well!

7. What happens if my dog gets dirty during the session?
A little dirt is part of the fun of outdoor photography! If we're on a water location for water pictures I always make sure to do those last! I recommend bringing a towel for quick clean-ups afterward.

8. When will I receive the photos?
You can expect to receive your edited gallery within 2-3 weeks after the session. I’ll send you a link to view and download your images in high resolution from a Dropbox.

9. Do you photograph other pets besides dogs?
Yes! I've photographed an iguana even! While dogs are my specialty, I’m happy to photograph other pets. Feel free to reach out, and we can discuss your needs.

10. How do I book a session?
It’s easy! Head over to the *Contact* page on my website, fill out the form, and I’ll get back to you to schedule your session. Let’s create something unforgettable!
